CHURCH OF BURGUEIRA

In the begining it was romanesque, but rebuilt in 1808. It has already not any element of that time. Close to it there is the rectorial house, similar to a fortress. For the whole area there are a lot of cruceros. In ruins it is possible to see chapel of Santo Domingo, times ago it was a part of Monastery of Oia.


CASTRO DE CHAVELLA

Located close to Mabia and Santa Comba, where there are a fantastic view of the coast of Oia, it is possible to see the old castle of Torroa as well and rests of the exterior wall... To east you can see petroglyphs.

A PORTELA

There are a groups of houses in the hight area of Oia, where everybody can see a big rock with cave engravings, rest of IX century, etc. Beside this rock there were a chapel dedicated to San Sebastián.

A Portela was a crossroad real important in olden days, place to pass of the roads between the valey of Rosal and monastery of Oia and to places as Mabia, Santa Comba, Torroña and Baiona. There still are springs, washing places, dams, horreos, old houses, rests of a old way to east and a beatiful landscape.

HERMITAGE OF SANTA COMBA

In the group of Mabia there are rests of a way and the hermitage dedicated to Dulce nombre de Jesús (Sweet name of Jesus) of century XVIII. Close to it is the hermitage of Santa Comba of century XVI. Its celebration has relation with gastronomical celebrations dedicated to mountain lamb.


MILLS OF RIVER ESPIÑEIRO

To south of A Chavella, there are the area of Valga and the river of Cal o Espiñiro, where you can see two groups of water mills. Here it is possible to find petroglyphs of differents times and rests of prehistoric age.
CHURCH OF LOUREZA

Beside to river Carballas, going to O Rosal, there is last town of Oia in the place of Acevedo. If we cross the river, we can find the church of Loureza built in century XVIII. There were an old monastery in this zone.

CALVARIO DE LOUREZA

Beside the church of Loureza there are a group of crosses belonging to an old calvary very interesting. Close to it there is a little hermitage dedicated to Saint Angel.
LAKES OF LOUREZA

Going to Burgueira there is one of the places of the river most beautiful because of its lakes and waterfalls.

MAZE OF A LAXE CRUZADA

Between Burgeira and Torroña are places with petroglyphs, like the famous Pedra Escrita o Laxe Cruzada, because of the representation of a maze which is the biggest known in Galicia.


RUINS OF OS CASTELOS

Scientists and historians say that Torroña was the old are of Turonium, where we can sited the ruins of castle called Os Castelos.
PETROGLYPHS OF A MACEIRA AND AS VEIGAS

In Mougás there is a petroglyph where human figures are representated.


THE HILLS OF A CHEIRA

From here there is a fantastic view of the valley of Mougás and the Atlantic ocean.
